Circular Economy and Sustainability as a Fundamental Principle

Since our founding, sustainability has shaped everything we do: from the circular economy and waste paper collection—which we established early on—to the later expansion of renewable energy and the promotion of environmentally friendly mobility. Through targeted measures, we conserve resources and minimize environmental impact.

In everything we do, fair and safe working conditions throughout our value chain are of central importance.

Together, we are shaping a sustainable future in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

Our climate targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and are aligned with the 1.5°C goal of the Paris Agreement.

Our Goals Through 2030 (Base Year: 2021)

–42% emissions (Scope 1 & 2)

–25% emissions (Scope 3) along the value chain

The current Scope 3 targets include energy- and industry-related emissions. Emissions from agriculture and forestry are not currently included and will be taken into account as soon as the relevant SBTi standards are available.

In addition, we are committed to ensuring that our use of raw materials associated with deforestation does not cause deforestation. For the full target definition: Target dashboard - Science Based Targets Initiative

Our methodology for calculating the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) is based on the GHG Protocol Product Standard. This allows us to ensure transparency and reliability in the carbon footprint assessment of our packaging solutions—by product type, data-driven, and practical.
